Cold fronts on the way with potential for rain every day

It could end up being an awful rainy and somewhat colder week just a week after a perfect run of Mardi Gras weather that mostly sat in the upper 60s and low 70s. That’s not the worst thing for the state, however, as we remain under drought conditions after months of little to no rain.

WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone said we’re far behind our average rain totals for the year at this point.


“That rain will be welcome for many since we've had about half the normal amount of rain so far this year, around five inches have fallen compared to an average of more than ten inches at this point in March,” said Malone.
