Heavy rains in the city of New Orleans are already raising concerns at the National Weather Service.
The NWS has issued a flood advisory for the city effective until 1 p.m. Sunday.
“Heavy rain occurring to the southeast of the Southshore will move into the New Orleans metro likely leading to minor flooding in the
usual problem spots,” the weather service’s bulletin read. “If the rain becomes more persistent a Flash Flood Warning will be needed.”
The advisory is also in effect for Jefferson, St. Bernard, and St. Charles Parishes.
