Fog, showers on Friday; strong storms expected Saturday

Fog will continue to be a problem for the next couple of days, with foggy mornings expected through Saturday. The New Orleans area will see showers and storms after the fog clears on Friday and Saturday, with the worst of those storms coming on Saturday afternoon and evening. Those storms could produce damaging winds and tornadoes, especially north of Lake Pontchartrain, and heavy rain.

Conditions clear on Sunday and remain clear through most of next week. Temperatures will near 70° on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but they will take a dive on Wednesday. High temperatuers on New Year's Day will be around 60°, with even colder conditions expected going into the first weekend of 2025.
