This record warm stretch is about to come crashing to an end.
"A significant cold front's going to move through," said LSU Health Climatologist Barry Keim.
Keim says after a weekend that starts with us in short sleeves and flip flops, "it's going to snap us back into the reality that yes, it's actually winter."
So while today and tomorrow will be in the 80s, it will be in the 50s and 40s Sunday morning.
Early next week brings even colder temperatures.
"On Tuesday, the will be the coldest day in this whole episode," Keim said. "We're looking at, even on the south shore, temperatures dropping down to 39, and we could see a light freeze on the north shore."
But then by mid-week, Keim says we'll boomerang back to spring-like highs in the afternoons.
