The forecast for the weekend is a hot one, but there is also a fairly decent chance of a scattered storm offering brief relief.
"Keep the umbrellas handy today: we'll have some scattered rain and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and early part of the evening," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexa Trischler. "Some heavier downpours are possible, and brief gusty winds."
Otherwise, Alexa says it will be hot and muggy. Highs will hit the mid to upper 80s, with the muggy conditions causing the feels-like temperatures to reach into the 90s.
