The New Orleans area will see more thunderstorms and heavy downpours on Tuesday afternoon, one day after storms dropped as much as eight inches of rain in some parts of the metro. Those showers and storms are expected to blanket the metro area by the middle of the afternoon. Localized street flooding is a possibility again today, as several more inches of rain could fall.

The good news is that rain chances will diminish as we get deeper into the week. Rain chances fall to 40 percent on Wednesday and 20 percent on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The bad news, though, is that the rain is bringing with it more humid conditions, giving us an early sampling of summer.
