The February "heat wave" continues as temperatures stay near records for a big part of this week.

"Your Monday will be in the low to mid 80s with breezy southwest winds,"  WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "Don't expect any big changes Tuesday through Thursday as temperatures stay in the low to mid 80s. There could be an isolated showers or two Wednesday and Thursday, but it looks like most rain stays north of the area."

He says a cold front approaches Thursday night along with a few showers and storms, but most of the stormy weather stays to the north.

"By Friday morning the cooler air moves back in. Expect weekend mornings in the 40s and 50s. Daytime temperatures will stay in the 60s with lots of sunshine."
