After a weekend cold front, morning temps today were in the 50s and 60s across the region.
We heat back into the 80s today, with one more cool morning for tomorrow.
Most of the region will start Tuesday in the 50s.
"Clouds will build in through the day with some showers starting late Tuesday into early Wednesday," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "Wednesday brings a good chance for needed rain as moisture surges over us from the southwest."
He says the rain is coming from two tropical systems in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
"These will weaken as they move inland over Mexico by Tuesday, and the leftover moisture should reach us in the form of rain on Wednesday. Right now it looks like rain totals will be between a half-inch and three inches with the highest totals along the coast."
Malone says a few showers could last into Thursday.
"Clouds and rain should keep temperatures down both days, especially Wednesday when we could stay in the lower 70s all day."
After surging back to mid and upper 80s Friday, we cool down again for the weekend.
"Another cold front will sweep through during the day. This one will make it cooler and gorgeous again next weekend."
