Hot again today, rain tomorrow

Wednesday will be our last day of mostly dry weather. A few storms are possible in the afternoon/evening, but they will be isolated.
Afternoon high temperatures will approach the mid 90s with heat index values near 106 degrees.

The stormy weather returns Thursday with showers and t-storms moving in during the afternoon. A few storms could be strong with gusty winds and heavy rain. The stormy pattern lingers into Friday and keeps temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

The weekend won't be a complete washout, but it still looks like we'll have a decent chance for showers and t-storms Saturday with slightly lower chance on Sunday.

Eye on the Tropics:

The only tropical wave currently being highlighted by the NHC is moving inland over Nicaragua. Models indicate the wave will move NW eventually toward the Bay of Campeche and the SW Gulf by Friday and the weekend. There is only a 20% chance for development once over the water off the coast of Mexico and southern TX. Upper wind patter will keep this system from moving toward the northern Gulf coast and wind shear should also prevent any real development or organization. Long-range models hinting at perhaps more development elsewhere in the Atlantic basin as we continue through next week, which isn't a surprise as we near the peak of hurricane season on September 10.
