A low pressure system in the Gulf is sending gusty winds across Southeast Louisiana with a few showers still moving ashore.
"Most of the rain today will stay near the mouth of the river and into the Gulf," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "A few passing showers are possible inland, but most will just be cloudy, cool and windy."
He says winds could gusts up to 40 mph at times.
"With a strong wind out of the northeast lasting into Thursday, coastal flooding will remain an issue for low areas near the lakes and coast."
Malone says rain decreases even more for tomorrow, but we don't see the sun until the weekend arrives.
"We'll remain under mostly cloudy skies until late Friday when a cold front moves through. No rain with the front, but less humid air and very pleasant conditions for Saturday and Sunday!"
