Rounds of rain forecast for our Friday

Storms
NWS

We could see rainfall and hear thunder a couple of times this morning and evening.

"We're watching for two rounds of showers and thunder storms today," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone explained.” The first round arrives later this morning into the midday hours."

He says the good news is that the severe weather threat is low.

WeatherNWS

"A few storms are possible with mainly a risk for gusty winds and small hail. The strongest storms this morning and afternoon will likely stay in the Gulf."

Malone forecasts rounds of showers and a few storms again this evening after sunset.

"This is the arrival of the cool front. A few strong storms are possible with the second round as well, but most won't see severe weather. Rain totals should be manageable with most of the rain. Spots that do see higher totals will be between 1-2 inches."

He says late tonight into Saturday morning this all clear out and we're left with a beautiful weekend! Back to the 70s with sunshine and low humidity. Our next stormy pattern arrives Tuesday-Thursday of next week.
