Highs will be in the upper 90s and may hit 100 in some areas this weekend, with heat indices even higher.
"We'll probably see more record heat today and tomorrow," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexa Trischler.
A tropical disturbance will pass through the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow and Monday, increasing the breeze tomorrow.
Fingers are crossed that this wave will bring much-needed rain, but that's not a definite.
"Hopefully, we'll see some higher rain chance from this on Monday," Alexa said. "But I only have a 40 percent chance for showers, mostly on the coast Monday."
