Saturday and Sunday nights saw some rough weather across southeast Louisiana, with hail reports from Slidell to Hammond Sunday and flooding rains across the regions Saturday.
WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone says after some blustery, early morning winds and light rain today, things clear out for most of the week.
"Pleasant and dry weather stays with us most of this week before warmth and some rain return to the forecast this coming weekend," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone expects.
He says the rest of today will be mostly dry with clearing skies late.
"It will also be cool and windy as a low pressure system finally dives away from us to the southeast."
Tuesday and Wednesday look to be sunny and cool.
"We'll warm up into the 70s at the end of the week with more clouds around. Rain chances will stay slim."
However, Malone says the weekend see increasing rain chances.
"Saturday and Sunday look warm with clouds and perhaps some showers as a cold front slowly pulls up near us. Models are not in sync yet, but there is a chance for rain both days."
How about Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras?
"We could still see some showers around for Monday, but most guidance suggests we turn cooler and drier for Mardi Gras. We'll see! Still a long ways out and timing of rain and cold front are still a big question."
