A cold front is impacting the New Orleans region.

"After a long stretch of 80s, much cooler air will settle in for the first part of this week," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone noted."The afternoon will be cool and a bit breezy."

Highs today will be in the 60s.  Morning lows started out in the 40s and 50s across Southeast Louisiana.  It gets even colder tonight.

"Monday night temperatures will drop to near 40 north of the lake and 50 south of the lake."

Malone says we will see 60s for highs through Wednesday.

"A few stray showers will be possible Tuesday night as a weak disturbance moves through."

We'll warm up into the 70s Thursday, but even colder air arrives after that.

"Our next front is set to slide in on Friday which would mean some rain on St. Patrick's Day. It looks like timing for the rain could be midday and afternoon with a drier and breezy evening."

Frost is possible north of the lake over the weekend.
