
Now that the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton have been assessed, a better picture is coming into focus for insurance rates in the state.
Homeowners were told not to worry just after the storms, but are officials still giving that advice?
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner, Tim Temple, says so far things still look good.
"Manageable is the word. As far as catastrophic impact, both Helene and Milton will come in below an Ivan for instance."
We have only had to deal with one storm so far, and it looks like we may escape this season relatively unscathed.
However, Temple says it is important to keep in mind that reinsurance is a global market and it matters what happens everywhere, not just here.
With that being said, as far as any hard numbers...
"We will have to wait until the end of the year before we know anything concrete."
