The day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday Record Store Day with special releases on vinyl, in store special performances, sales, events and offerings. Our As Heard On XRT partners will be participating. See the releases we’re excited about below and check out what’s happening at each store.

Animal Records in Evanston will have all of our standout releases in stock when they open on Black Friday. They will be holding a sidewalk sale as well as giving out free “doggie” bags to the first 300 customers that include stickers, buttons, and even a swinging clown. They are planning on giveaways, snacks and other surprises throughout the weekend.

Val's halla Records in Oak Park will be carrying ALL of the titles we’ve listed as well as almost all of the Record Store Day Black Friday list. They will also have LIVE music from 1PM - 9PM.

Loud Pizza Records at Salt Shed
1357 North Elston Ave. Suite 150 Chicago, IL 60642

Loud Pizza Records at Salt Shed will have most of the standouts listed above excluding: Living in the Material World George Harrison, Masters of War (Live in Alan Lomax's Apartment) Bob Dylan, and Their Satanic Majesties Request The Rolling Stones. They will be doing appointments in the morning for loyal customers and will be open in the afternoon to the public and Waterparks will be performing at the Shed that evening.

Blue Village Vinyl
29 East Chicago Ave Unit B, Westmont IL 60559

Blue Village Vinyl in Westmont will have Limited Record Store Day Exclusives on a first come, first serve basis. Doors open at 10am with Live Music from Phil Angotti at 11am and a book signing at Noon for “Songs We Were Singing: Guided Tours Through The Beatles’ Lesser-Known Tracks” by Kit O’Toole. They’ll also be offering 10% off all used merchandise.

Mile Long Records
128 W. Liberty Dr, Wheaton, IL 60187

Mile Long Records in Wheaton will have all of the As Heard on XRT titles at the front of the store! And will be carrying many of the other standouts listed. They will be open early on Black Friday (9:00 am) and will be handing out numbered wristbands at 10:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Night to give folks that want to venture out with a belly full of Turkey (or something else) and get priority entry on Black Friday.

Elmhurst Records

Elmhurst Records will be open from 8am to 8pm on Black Friday with Record Store Day titles from A-Ha, Alice Cooper, The B-52’s, Cage The Elephant, Phil Collins, Miles Davis, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Danny Elfman, Flaming Lips, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Grateful Dead, George Harrison, INXS, Marcus King, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, Ramones, Rolling Stones, Spinal Tap, and more.

Orbit Records

Orbit Records in Elmwood Park will be open 8am-5pm on Friday and on Sunday the 29th from Noon-5 (normally closed Sundays). Specials include: Lots of Black Friday titles, sales on used LPs, 45s, CDs, a free turntable mat w/ $75 purchase, coffee & pastries while supply lasts.
