
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A dozen students on the South Side were sent to area hospitals after a can of pepper spray was accidentally discharged.
A Chicago Fire Department spokesman said the incident happened at around 11:45 a.m. at Parker Community Academy, a PK, K-8 CPS school, located at 68th and Stewart in Englewood.
The fire official said the twelve students were hit by the spray while gathered in the school’s cafeteria. They were transported to multiple area hospitals and are all listed in fair condition.
The ages of the injured students are not known at this time.
