(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Four Chicago suburbs have been named among the nation’s safest and richest places to live for 2024.
The list is from GoBankingRates.com, which publishes information on investing. It analyzed hundreds of American cities and ranked 30 based on household income and crime rates.
Although Illinois had fewer cities included on the list than New Jersey, California and Massachusetts, the Prairie State boasted three of the top five cities on the list.
Western Springs, located between Brookfield and Hinsdale, took home the top spot on the list. According to GoBankingRates.com, Western Springs has an average household median income of $276,402 and an average single-family home value of $763,060.
No city on the list had an average household median income below $251,210.
The other three Illinois suburbs were all located on the North Shore. Kenilworth was the list’s No. 2 city; Winnetka rounded out the top five; and Wilmette came in at No. 17.
