(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 4-year-old girl is dead following a three-vehicle pile-up in Kane County Saturday night.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. near Route 38 and Francis Road in Maple Park.
The Kane County Sheriff's Office said a Chrysler 200 was headed eastbound on Route 38 when it crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a Jeep Compass. The Chrysler then hit a Subaru Forester.
A 4-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Jeep was flown to Lurie Children's Hospital, but later died.
Drivers of the Chrysler and the Jeep were brought to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is now under investigation.
