Remote learning during COVID

VILLA PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A COVID outbreak in a DuPage County school district leaves dozens of students quarantined.

Less than a week into the school year, 10 students in District 45 tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the district's COVID-19 dashboard, a total of 47 students are now quarantined.

The district serves elementary and middle school students in Villa Park, Lombard, Oakbrook Terrace, and Elmhurst.

According to District 45, students who either test positive for COVID-19 or were in close contact with someone who tested positive will be subject to a 14-day quarantine period.

The district will offer temporary remote learning for those students.

“One-way live streaming is designed to provide your child(ren) with a window into his/her classroom. Optional drop-in support will be provided by a certified staff member after school hours," the district said.

Students returned to in-person learning last Wednesday.
