The BBB has identified the top reported scams to look out for in 2026 and discovered the volume of scam reports doubled over last year.

Kayla Palmore with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM has all the details.

Online shopping remains the number one type of fraud reported for the sixth year in a row, while phishing and employment scams round out the top three for the third year in a row.

Recently entering the top ten, misrepresented advance fee loans are often misleading online, creating a confusing maze of misinformation.

Every year, consumers lose millions to fake websites, fraudulent transactions, phony endorsements, and undelivered purchases.

As we start the new year, the best investment is empowering yourself with knowledge to keep friends and family fraud-free in 2026!
