CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Bears continued their padded practices this weekend in preparation for their preseason game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday at Soldier Field.
The upcoming join practices with the Dolphins will provide a way for Bears leadership to evaluate the team and it reacts without a lot of notice about what they face.
“It’s all about understanding your assignment, know what you’ve been taught the last couple of weeks and go out there and do your job,” Tom Thayer told Bears play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak.
Should the Bears’ offensive-line ask for video of the Dolphins to get an advantage of what they’re up against?
“Right now no because you don’t time. There’s going to be a guy that’s going to be a third defensive tackle that you’ve never heard of before. So it’s not like you’re going to have a lot of instructional tape on him,” Thayer said.
The former Bear and Dolphin reiterated his earlier point: take everything you’ve been taught and incorporate it during the game.
