(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Fraudsters are giving “artificial flowers,” a whole new meaning.
For millions of people, growing flowers is a favorite pastime, but watch out! Fake exotic flowers created by Artificial Intelligence are popping up for sale on the internet.
Scammers are selling very expensive seeds for stunning flowers that don’t exist. A recent example sweeping the internet is the “Cats Eye Dazzle” that claims to create a flower that looks similar to the faces of little kittens.
To make matters worse, the fake flowers are then sold on phony websites. Victims report receiving wildflower seeds, while many lose their money, and no shipment is made.
Always check with a reputable local flower or botanical expert if you spot anything unusual, and do your homework on any website or company before you send money or personal information.
