WONDER LAKE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A boil order for the Village of Wonder Lake has been lifted.

West side Wonder Lake residents are breathing a sigh of relief after village officials announced that the boil order in place for nearly a week has been ended.

After two consecutive days of clear testing for coliform bacteria, The Illinois EPA provided clearance to lift the order.

The order was issued after tests showed the bacteria was found in the water system. About 1,400 homes were affected.

For instructions on how residents can resume service within their home, visit the village's website.
