CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A teenager is in custody for allegedly shooting and killing another teen during a South Loop takeover last month.
The 14-year-old boy was first arrested back in March, following a chase from a street takeover near Roosevelt and Canal, but he was released without charges.
Police said the teen has now been identified as the person who shot and killed 17-year-old Jeremy Smith during the takeover on March 2.
He also shot and injured a 15-year-old, according to police.
He's facing charges for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm.
