Car veers off DLSD, plunges into Lake Michigan near Grant Park: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police say a woman was uninjured after driving her car into Lake Michigan Saturday night.

Police said a 26-year-old woman was heading  south on DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Balbo Drive, at around 7:40 p.m. when she veered off the road and into Lake Michigan.

She exited the car and made her way back to shore. Police said she was not injured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The car was still partially submerged in the lake. Citations are pending.
