Our PAWS Chicago Pet of the Week is a cat named Jersey. Jersey is about 4 years old and was a stray cat brought in by a resident who noticed Jersey had a soda can tab stuck between his toes. PAWS's veterinary staff was able to remove the tab and provide additional care that Jersey needed. Now, he's as happy as can be and he is ready to go home with you and your family.
PAWS reminds you that this July 4 weekend, combined with NASCAR races for some residents, can be noisy and stressful for your pets. Make sure all doors remain closed and there is a comfortable and safe place away from windows and exterior walls for your pet to escape and relax. You might want to play classical music or some white noise to drown out noise from fireworks, nearby parties, or those NASCAR engines.
