Charges filed after rideshare driver shot by passenger on Dan Ryan

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man is accused of shooting a rideshare driver while they were traveling together on the Dan Ryan Expressway last month.

Illinois state troopers were called to the expressway near 26th Street at about 10 a.m. on Oct. 20, state police said. A rideshare driver told them Luis Enrique Tinajero, 20, shot him and ran away after the driver pulled over to the side of the road.

The driver said he then went to a hospital, state police said.

Tinajero was taken into custody Oct. 28 and charged with a felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
