(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – WBBM Newsradio’s Rachel Pierson has the latest roundup of weekend events in the Chicago region.

--Get ready to pack your bags and plan that next vacation! The Chicago Travel and Adventure Show is back at the Stephens Convention Center this weekend. You’ll find thousands of vacation options from the top destinations and meet with travel experts to help you book that next getaway.

--After a two-year hiatus, the Chicago Boat Show returns to McCormick Place. Whether you’re looking to purchase a vessel of your own or simply learn from the pros, this year’s show has something for everyone. New this year is a surf simulator that lets you catch a wave indoors.

--Get together at Chicago's year-round rooftop Saturday afternoon for a festival featuring the most delicious wines. The Godfrey Wine Fest in River North offers four hours of wine tastings with over a dozen varieties to try.

--Free days are back at the Shedd Aquarium. From belugas and bluegills to stingrays and sturgeons, Illinois residents will get free access to all the aquarium’s exhibits Saturday and Sunday. Advanced reservations are required online.

--Calling all winter cycling enthusiasts. The Forge Fat Tire Bike Race and Tour brings bikers along a 5.5 and 10.4 mile race course at the Lemont Quarries. Now in its second year, Saturday’s event will take place rain (or snow) or shine.

--Take an evening stroll along the Lake County Forest Preserve’s solar-lit trails.
From sunset until 9 p.m. the lighted paths will guide walkers, hikers, skiers or snowshoers through a 1.3-mile trail at the Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville and Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda.

--And head out to Warrenville for a Two Brothers Brewery Tour at Two Brothers Tap House. See how they make their craft beer, ask questions and sample some of their liquid creations.
