(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- This past holiday season was record-breaking for a popular food and shopping festival.
The Christkindlmarkets in Daley Plaza, Wrigleyville and Aurora pulled in a combined attendance of more than 2 million, according to Leila Schmidt, the senior marketing and communications manager the event.
She said there were 1.3 million visitors at Daley Plaza; 480,000 in Wrigleyville and 240,000 at the Aurora location.
Schmidt credits special attractions at all three markets, good weather and less concern about the spread of COVID.
