If you’re flying out of Chicago this summer, you may notice lactation pods for nursing mothers at O’Hare and Midway airports.
Chicago has installed eight of the portable stations at O’Hare and one at Midway.
The pods, made by a Vermont-based company called Mamava, are free to use and accessible through an app.
Once the final two pods are installed at O’Hare’s Terminal One later this summer, the airport will have the second-most portable lactation spots in the country.
The 50-square-foot pods meet federal requirements for airport nursing space authored by Senator Tammy Duckworth, who became the first sitting US Senator to give birth four years ago.
Mamava has also installed lactation pods at Soldier Field and Navy Pier.
