CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Dozens of kids and families came out for an Easter egg hunt at a park on Chicago’s far northwest side this morning.

The colorful plastic eggs scattered across Eugene Field Park in Albany Park were scooped up quickly, leaving three-year-old Ellie to count out her collection.

Leah Mooney was wearing bunny ears and holding a microphone to kick things off in three separate areas based on age groups.

"It's so beautiful and it's just so nice to have everybody come out and feel welcome at the park, because that's really our goal-get everybody involved."

She’s the treasurer for the Park Advisory Council, which put on the event with the park district that had the egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny and a raffle.
