CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Illinois State Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Thursday night on the Stevenson Expressway.
State police said the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m., inbound on the Stevenson at Ashland. The driver was killed. His pregnant wife was not injured.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as 28-year old Humberto Marin-Garcia of the city's North Park neighborhood. Officials said Marin-Garcia's wife was taken to a hospital to be examined. Police do not yet know what caused someone to open fire on the couple.
Lanes of the Stevenson were closed for about six hours as state police investigated.
