
JASPER COUNTY, Ind. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Indiana State Police are continuing the investigation into a shooting that happened on I-65 Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 4:45 p.m. on the southbound lanes near the 224- mile marker. State troopers said they responded for an interstate shooting.
Initial investigation shows the driver of a semi was traveling southbound when he was shot and sustained a potential life- threatening gunshot wound, police said.
Responding officers immediately rendered first aid until paramedics arrived.
A medical transport helicopter took the driver to a hospital for emergency treatment. His health status is not available an there are no further details yet on the circumstances of the shooting.
