(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Florida man is charged with shooting and killing his half-brother near Naperville on Christmas Day.
Investigators say James Watson was upset he couldn't find his cell phone on Monday and slammed a card table to the floor of a home on Wood Court in unincorporated Naperville.
Watson's half-brother, 28-year-old Kendall Yarborough of Palm Harbor, Florida, was upstairs and allegedly fired a gun toward his sibling, striking him in the abdomen.
Watson was pronounced dead at a hospital, and Yarborough was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. A pre-trial detention hearing was continued to Wednesday, officials said.
"It is horrible that a tragedy occurred on Christmas," DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick said in a news release. "It goes to show that domestic violence can occur in any home and that's why we take domestic related incidents seriously at the DuPage County Sheriff's Office."
