ELK GROVE VILLAGE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Elk Grove Village Police will have more officers at a school today after a student allegedly made a threat.

Police said they identified the student at Grove Junior High who allegedly shared a threat to Snapchat last week.

There are not many specifics about the incident, but police said they spoke to the child’s parents and the department wants to reassure the village there is no danger to students or staff.

Extra police will be around the school today.

It was a year ago that District 59 added a resource officer to the school after a fight, and the mayor said a student threatened to stab another student with a knife.
