CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - We're getting a blast of winter weather this week and, in addition to putting on your hat and scarf, you also need to bundle up your car.
Kevin Garcia of Carrectly Auto Care at the Merchandise Mart Plaza says that the advice you've always heard about "warming up" your car for ten minutes or so, still makes sense.
“Regardless of the new sophisticated materials that they may have, it’s always a good idea to keep doing the old fashioned ways,” Garcia tells WBBM. “It’s more so to maintain the car being new, if you don’t keep it new, you’re just on the right track to making sure your car ends up in the scrap yard sooner or later.”
Garcia also says make sure your wipers are new, your battery is charged, and you should also buy snow tires.
