Another demonstration in Chicago today in support of Ukraine.
Hundreds of people rallied and then marched throughout the streets of downtown Chicago on Sunday, March 27. They held holding Ukrainian flags and waved banners saying, "Putin get out of Ukraine," "Russia You Shall Not Pass," "Hands off Ukraine." The demonstrators marched from Water Tower Place throughout the streets, while cars honked their support.
Politicians also showed their support. Senator Dick Durbin, Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas and Congressman Mike Quigley were among those lending their support to vocal demonstrators, saying that Russia must be repelled.
Durbin said the intelligence community and the world underestimated Ukraine.
"They predicted that Kyiv would fall in a matter of weeks at the most, and that Putin with all of his armies would overrun Ukraine. They were wrong," he said.
