Joliet Police searching for semi-truck driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Joliet Police are searching for the driver of a semi-truck after a man was killed in a hit-and-run.

It happened Saturday afternoon near Washington and Ottawa streets.

Officials say a 21-year-old New Lenox man was run over after having just been released from the Will County jail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them at (815) 724-3100.

It follows another incident on Friday when a pedestrian was hit near Jefferson and Morris streets.

Joliet Police say a 22-year-old man walked into traffic when he was struck and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
