
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Detectives are investigating a brutal afternoon shooting on the South Side that left a 24-year-old man dead.
Chicago Police said the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. in the Bronzeville neighborhood, near 43rd and Indiana Avenue.
The victim was standing on the sidewalk when, police said, a white sedan pulled up along side him and a suspect began shooting at him.
According to the police, the 24-year-old was shot 12 times, suffering wounds to his head and body. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center but later died.
The shooting vehicle fled the scene.
No one is in custody.
