(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago man has been sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for secretly recording thousands of videos of naked boys in lockers rooms at three YMCA’s.
Federal Prosecutors said 58-year-old Michael Porter had been making videos of boys for nearly two decades, sexually abusing at least one.
After his arrest in 2021, investigators said he had collected more than 46,000 images and more than 44,000 videos.
They said he produced 2,200. Prosecutors called Porter “A prolific manufacturer and collector of child pornography".
Recordings were made at three YMCA's where he was a member.
That includes South Side YMCA in Woodlawn, the High Ridge YMCA in West Rogers Park and the Leaning Tower YMCA in Niles.
The High Ridge and Leaning Tower locations have since closed.
Porter pleaded guilty last year to federal charges of production, receipt, and possession of child pornography.
