(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An Illinois man has quite a story to tell after he inhaled a dentist's drill bit during a routine procedure and ended up in a hospital in Kenosha, Wis.
The nearly inch long drill bit launched deep into the patient's lung after channel 12 Milwaukee said he inhaled just as he was coughing.
"I was at the dentist getting a tooth filled, and then next thing I know I was told I swallowed this tool, so I didn't really even feel it going down. All I felt was a cough," Tom Jozsi told the station.
The sent the metal drill bit into the airway of the 60- year- old maintenance worker. A CT scan showed it midway down in the right lobe of the lung. A special medical procedure using a catheter was needed to retrieve the bit.
The bit now sit on Jozsi's shelf in his home as a souvenir.
