Man's body pulled from river in Joliet

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A boater found a man's body floating in the Des Plaines River in Joliet on Friday morning.

Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English said the African-American man's body was found along the west bank of the river near the corner of Bluff and Jefferson streets.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. No identity was released.

Joliet detectives are reviewing video from cameras in the area, as well as looking for witnesses who might have seen how the man wound up in the river.

The Will County Coroner will conduct an autopsy.
