CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Mayor of Naperville is being called out by his niece, for attending a wedding in Florida.
Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico recently attended his daughter's wedding in Naples, Florida.
A picture from that wedding shows Chirico with a group of people, who were not wearing masks.
A woman identifying herself as Chirico's niece Kristin Chirico took to Twitter on Sunday, calling out her uncle and saying he was "not sorry" and "should be held accountable" for attending the gathering.
Mayor Chirico said in a statement he was at an outdoor wedding reception with 53 guests and that everyone had tested negative for COVID-19 before traveling to the ceremony. He added that he will be quarantining for two weeks upon his return.
"Upon my return to Naperville, I will be quarantining and testing again," Chirico said.
The picture stirred up anger on social media as coronavirus cases surge and people are being urged to stay home.
