CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- In about a month, North Siders will no longer be able to get their nutritional supplements from a store that has a vitamin vault.
The Walgreen’s at the corner of North, Milwaukee and Damen Avenues has been located inside the historic Noel State Bank building for the past ten years and when Walgreen’s moved in, it decided to incorporate the bank’s vault into its operations.
Thus, the Vitamin Vault was born and since then, customers have been shopping for Vitamin C, Omega-3's and Vitamin D in the same location where people used to store their most valuable items.
Now, Walgreen’s plans to close the store at the end of January. The Noel State Bank building was constructed in 1919.
