CEDAR LAKE, IND. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two Northwest Indiana men are in custody after a botched food delivery escalated to a violent home invasion.
Homeowners in Cedar Lake ordered food through DoorDash, and when it was delivered they realized they also received someone else’s order.
The DoorDash driver, 18-year-old Noah Villarreal came back to the house, along with 20-year-old Jaylaun Williams, and got into an argument with the victims on their front porch.
It then turned into a fight. Police said Williams pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the homeowners while Villarreal rushed into the house and stole $121 in cash. The whole thing was caught on a security camera.
Charges against Villarreal and Williams are now pending.
