One man dead, vehicles riddled with bullet holes in Southwest suburbs

CHICAGO (WBBM Newsradio) - Detectives in Joliet are looking for surveillance footage and a motive, while seeking a suspect in a shooting that has left a man dead this weekend.

A Joliet Police officer had been near the Dollar Tree parking lot located at 2900 Colorado Avenue when gunfire was heard just before 2am.

Additional officers responded and a 31-year-old man was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Two unoccupied vehicles and a nearby cannabis dispensary were struck by the gun fire.

A gun and several spent shell casings were recovered from the scene.
