(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An arrest warrant has been issued for the alleged gunman who opened fire last Friday at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago mall in Rosemont, killing a man and wounding a teenage girl.

Rosemont police say say 18-year-old Jose Matias of Chicago shot and killed 20-year-old Joel Valdes and a struck a 15-year-old bystander near the mall’s food court.

Authorities say the shooting, which occurred near a food court, stemmed from an argument.

The arrest warrant was issued after police identified him through surveillance video and interviews with witnesses. The warrant for Matias charges him with aggravated unauthorized use of a weapon, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Matias left the mall in a 2008 maroon Honda that was later recovered in Bellwood. He is not yet in custody.
