(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two Buffalo Grove police officers will not face charges in the fatal shooting of a man early on Dec. 2, 2021 in the northern suburb.
After reviewing evidence, including dash-cam video and audio from a 9-1-1 call, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office said Monday the two officers acted in self-defense when Brian Howard was shot and killed.
According to prosecutors, the evidence showed Howard called 9-1-1 and reported a man shooting in Mill Creek Park. Howard later said he was the armed man and referred to himself as a "bad dude.”
Howard refused to drop the two guns he had as he walked towards the officers, officials said, and was fatally shot by one of them after he fired two shots.
