With tension rising in the Middle East, former President Donald Trump took time to point the finger at his successor, saying if he were the president, Iran wouldn’t have attacked Israel.

Trump’s comments came while speaking to a crowd of his supporters at a political rally in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.

“I want to say God bless the people of Israel — they’re under attack right now,” Trump said Saturday. “That’s because we show great weakness. This would not happen.”

He continued, saying “The great weakness that we’ve shown is unbelievable, and it would not have happened if we were in office. You know that, they know that, everybody knows that.”

Iran launched a drone attack and missile strikes on Israel on Saturday, sparking fears for many about escalated conflict in the region, which has already been simmering with Israel’s war with Hamas.

However, Israel said that the “vast majority” of the Iranian missiles were intercepted outside of the country by its air defenses and through the assistance of its allies.

The United States was among those who helped intervene and intercept the missiles.

Trump’s rally began shortly after the attack, and during his speech, he urged America to pray for Israel, saying, “We send our absolute support to everyone in harm’s way. This is an attack that would not have happened.”

He then went on to say he would “revive American strength abroad” as well as at home.

Before he took the stage in Pennsylvania, Trump shared a similar sentiment in a post to Truth Social, writing, “ISRAEL IS UNDER ATTACK!”

“This should never have been allowed to happen – This would NEVER have happened if I were President!” Trump wrote.

Biden shared on Saturday that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“I’ve just spoken with Prime Minister Netanyahu to reaffirm America’s ironclad commitment to the security of Israel,” Biden said. “I told him that Israel demonstrated a remarkable capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks – sending a clear message to its foes that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel.”
